Cookies and the right to object to direct marketing
„Cookies“ are small files that are stored on users’ computers. Various types of information can be stored within cookies. A cookie serves primarily to store information about a user (or the device on which the cookie is stored) during or after their visit to an online offering. Temporary cookies, also known as „session cookies“ or „transient cookies“, are cookies that are deleted after a user leaves an online offering and closes their browser. Such a cookie can store, for example, the contents of a shopping basket in an online shop or a login status. Cookies are described as „permanent“ or „persistent“ if they remain stored after the browser is closed. For example, the login status can be stored if users return after several days. Likewise, users’ interests can be stored in such a cookie and used for reach measurement or marketing purposes. „Third-party cookies“ are cookies offered by providers other than the controller who operates the online offering (if they are only the controller’s own cookies, these are referred to as „first-party cookies“). We may use temporary and permanent cookies and will inform you about this within our privacy policy. If users do not wish cookies to be stored on their computer, they are asked to deactivate the relevant option in their browser’s system settings. Stored cookies can be deleted in the browser’s system settings. Excluding cookies may lead to restrictions in the functionality of this online offering.
SSL encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar changes from „http://“ to „https://“ and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar. When SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits to us automatically. These are: • Browser type and browser version • Operating system used • Referrer URL • Hostname of the accessing computer • Time of the server request • IP address This data is not merged with other data sources. This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website, and the server log files must be recorded for this purpose.
Enquiries by email or telephone
If you contact us by email or telephone, your enquiry, including all personal data arising from it (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of dealing with your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent. This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us. The data you send to us via contact enquiries remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (for example, after your request has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular statutory retention periods, remain unaffected.
Deletion of data
The data we process is erased or its processing restricted in accordance with Art. 17 and 18 GDPR. Unless expressly stated otherwise in this privacy policy, the data we store is erased as soon as it is no longer required for its intended purpose and no statutory retention obligations prevent its erasure. Where data is not erased because it is required for other, legally permissible purposes, its processing is restricted. This means the data is blocked and not processed for other purposes. This applies, for example, to data that must be retained for commercial or tax law reasons.
